One of my heroes and teachers (although I obviously
never met him) is Socrates.
Socrates, as well as his student Plato, taught
substance.
A student of language and ontology (which I am
both), realizes that substance is the fundamental state of
being.
While the materialist or transitory person builds
his life upon things seen, the person of substance relies and
builds upon, the unseen.
While the amateur makes decisions based upon what
appears (in the bank account, in business, or body), the Leader
builds upon and makes decisions, based upon that which has not YET
appeared.
When the vision on the inside is more powerful and
compelling than what you observe on the outside, the universe is at
your command...
